Originally from Brazil of Lebanese descent, Julia Bacha directed and produced Budrus (2009) and wrote and co-directed the feature documentary Encounter Point (2006) . Julia is Media Director at Just Vision (justvision.org) and an award-winning filmmaker who has worked on films exhibited at the Sundance, Berlin, Jerusalem, and Dubai International Film Festivals, and broadcast on the BBC, HBO, Sundance, CBC and Al Arabiya television channels.

حازت المخرجة السينمائية جوليا باشا على عدة جوائز عالمية وقد عملت على عدد من الأفلام الوثائقية التي تم عرضها في مهرجانات السينما الدولية في برلين والقدس ودبي و غيرها، هذا بالإضافة الى بثها على القنوات التلفيزيونية العالمية منها العربية و البي بي سي. قامت باشا، وهي برازيلية من أصول لبنانية، بإخراج وإنتاج الفيلم الوثائقي “بدرس” (2009) كما أنها كتبت وساهمت في إخراج الوثائقي البارز “نقطة إحتكاك” (2006). وقد شاركت أيضاً في كتابة وتحرير وثاثقي جيهان نجيم “غرفة التحكم” (2006) الذي استقطب اهتماماً واسعاً من قبل النقاد والذي أدى إلى ترشيحها لنيل جائزة الغيلد الأميركية التي غالباً ما تمنح للكتاب المتميزين. حازت باشا على جائزة الملك حسين للزعامة عن سنة 2010 وجائزة البحث عن أرضية مشتركة عن العام عينه كما نالت جائزة ريدنهور للأفلام لعام 2011. وقد برزت أعمال المخرجة باشا في برنامج أميركي شهير ومجلتي نيوزويك الإيكونوميست بالإضافة الى صحيفتي النيويورك تايمز والواشنطن بوست.
