Appello Internazionale per la Gaza Freedom March

L’assedio israeliano di Gaza è una flagrante violazione del diritto internazionale che ha portato alla sofferenza di massa. Gli Stati Uniti, l’Unione Europea, e il resto della comunità internazionale sono complici.

La legge è chiara. La coscienza dell’umanità è scossa. Eppure, l’assedio di Gaza continua. È giunto il momento di agire! Il 31 dicembre 2009 concluderemo l’anno marciando al fianco del popolo palestinese di Gaza in una manifestazione nonviolenta per rompere il blocco illegale.

Il nostro scopo in questa marcia è rompere l’assedio di Gaza. Chiediamo che Israele ponga fine al blocco. Chiediamo anche all’Egitto di aprire la frontiera di Gaza a Rafah. I palestinesi devono avere la libertà di viaggiare per motivi di studio, di lavoro, e di cura e anche di ricevere visitatori provenienti dall’estero.

Essendo noi una coalizione internazionale, non spetta a noi sostenere una soluzione politica specifica a questo conflitto. Eppure la fiducia nella nostra comune umanità ci spinge a chiedere a tutte le parti di rispettare e sostenere il diritto internazionale e i diritti umani fondamentali per porre fine all’occupazione militare israeliana dei territori palestinesi del 1967 e per perseguire una pace giusta e duratura.

La marcia potrà avere successo soltanto se risveglierà la coscienza dell’umanità.

Vi invitiamo tutti ad unirsi a noi.
