(Français) Sida: L’Afrique du Sud Lance des Médicaments Antirétroviraux a Prix Record

Il y aurait 6 millions de séropositifs en Afrique du Sud, soit plus d’une personne sur 10. Le gouvernement réagit en lançant un programme de distribution de médicaments antirétroviraux à un prix record de 89 rands mensuels soit 7,5 euros. C’est le résultat d’un accord entre plusieurs laboratoires pharmaceutiques, dont certains de génériques qui permettrait la prise en charge de 2,5 millions de personnes dans les deux prochaines années.
« L’Afrique du Sud a décidé depuis quelques années d’avoir un programme très ambitieux de traitement de sa population vivant avec le VIH. Utiliser aujourd’hui les meilleures combinaisons et les plus simples, à savoir un comprimé par jour est devenu possible grâce à des prix extrêmement bas. C’est ce que l’Afrique du Sud vient de négocier avec les compagnies pharmaceutiques. »
