An Indian Guru realized that he was getting old and could not teach much longer. So he told his students,

“I have to stop teaching soon, and to be able to continue to support myself, I need some savings. Please go to any busy intersection, and when nobody is looking, snatch a purse and bring it to me.”

His students were puzzled, but they did not dare to question their guru. All went out to try to snatch purses, except one. The guru asked him, “Why are you not doing what I told you?”

The boy explained, “You said we should snatch a purse when nobody is looking. But that is impossible, because I will always be looking.”

The guru told him, “You are the only one who understood. I want you to become my successor.”
