Music legend John Legend reads Muhammad Ali’s speech against the Vietnam War in 1966. “Why should they ask me to put on a uniform and go 10,000 miles from home and drop bombs and bullets on brown people in Vietnam, while so-called Negro people in Louisville are treated like dogs and denied simple human rights?” Ali said.
John Legend’s reading appears in the film “The People Speak,” which is based on Howard Zinn and Anthony Arnove’s “Voices of a People’s History of the United States.”
