Ads for Profit and Humiliation

Dr. Ravi P. Bhatia – TRANSCEND Media Service

In this pandemic season, there is suffering everywhere
People are falling ill, trying to get vaccine
Many unable to find hospitals and medicine
A new problem has arisen, unable to get oxygen
Without oxygen patients unable to breathe, gasping for breath
Oh Lord what crime have people committed to be in this mess

But worse is still there for people to see
There are Ads on TV or newspapers asking you to buy this or that
Beautiful models showing off their shiny wardrobe
Handsome men attracting you to this AC or the new car
Latest craze — wear Louis Vuitton mask to show off your Corona War

When the poor look at these ads, they feel humiliated
They wonder why they can’t buy enough food for their child
Not to speak of acquiring the shiny gadgets
The rich spend more time and money on their pets

Whom should one blame — the government
Or the economy for this ferment
Oh Krishna play your flute and give us music
And take us out of this torment

Hare Krishna
