The Kite

Up and up the kite flies.
The wind carries it afloat
Yet it cannot reach the star.
God has set it so remote.
Hanging and hooked by a thread
Kites are adorned in the sky overhead.
Can the thread be broken?
Yes, I said.
Like human hearts.
But the kite must fly again!
Even though there is no rain.
So too must human hearts.
Heal even if there is pain.
