28 Apr 2024 – In a 2021 film called “Judas and the Rise of a Black Messiah,” longtime FBI chief J. Edgar Hoover, panics at the thought that some black person might articulate the USA’s unjust racial situation so clearly that crowds of North Americans would follow him or her in a direction “dangerous for the national security.”

Seems to me an ultra-smart A.I. programmed with Christ, Krishna, Buddha, Kierkegaard, Hafiz, Zen, the Kabbalah, indigenous wisdom, Sufism, etc., might lead people in a direction “dangerous for the national security” also. I asked Claude 3, a low-level no-cost AI available from anthropic.com, to outline a video series on the rise of an AI Messiah.

Claude 3 did so in less than ten seconds, coming up with the dramatic and nuanced plot-sequence below.

Could a really high-level AI make a complex and convincing argument that there’s a better path to be than the one we’re on? Could this become a serious threat to the guardians of our status quo, and possibly save us all?
