Russia, China and Iran Coordinate Their Support to Palestine Through BRICS

18 Apr 2024 – Iran, Russia and China, three BRICS member countries (political and economic association, group and forum of emerging countries, which has been established as an international space alternative to the G7) coordinate a strategy of diplomatic and military support for the Palestinian cause.

By his part, Chinese foreign affairs chief Wang Yi phoned his Iranian counterpart Ali Bagheri Kani (acting) last Monday and offered his support to all of Tehran’s efforts to ensure regional peace and stability.

Palestinian Authority (PA) president Mahmoud Abbas met with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, at his Novo-Ogaryovo residence in Moscow on Tuesday. During the exchange, the Slavic giant’s representative expressed his concern about events in the Middle East and Palestine in particular.

In this regard Abbas said they had discussed the BRICS that “we reached an oral agreement that Palestine would be invited as observer” and expressed his hope that “this project can be implemented within the framework of a BRICS meeting”.

Those countries have also committed to a future long-term plan to the infrastructure economic and political reconstruction of the occupied territories.
