17 Aug 2024 – These days I am living in  Toronto In Canada. Canada has a population of about 40 million . Canada has ten provinces such as British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec etc. Ontario, the biggest province has a population of about  16  million . Toronto  is a major city in Ontario and has a population of about 6.5  million people. It is inhabited by many people of China, India,  Ireland , Philippines etc. apart from original Canadians. Quebec is also a major province — it is a large (area-wise) province. It is mainly French speaking. Efforts had been made earlier to make it a separate country, but it remains as part of Canada. People get help to learn elementary French here.

Although Canada is officially bilingual — English and French, however few people speak or work in the French language other than in Quebec and somewhat in Montreal .

Toronto is significant from tourism purposes and also is culturally, socially important since people of so many communities are living peacefully in this city. It also has a fine weather these days that attracts people. Of course in winter months, it becomes very cold and also snows quite a bit.

It has good education institutes — George Brown College, University of Toronto,  Metropolitan University and others. Many students — both  Canadian and foreign students study in these institutions. They provide good education and also provide various skills that are necessary in life. They also teach not only English and some French but also some other languages — German, Spanish etc.

When a foreign person comes to Toronto, he is amazed at the cultural diversity of the country Canada. There are various important streets or Avenues — Bloor Street, Wallace Avenue , Evergreen Market, Don Valley Parkway  Rosedave Valley and other interesting places and areas. There is also a road called Indian Road — not connected with India. There are other roads with interesting names — Keele Street. There is a restaurant in Toronto that mainly offers Indian food like  — dosa, idly etc. Many people who cherish Indian food often come to this restaurant.

There are many parks and gardens in Toronto that add to the greenery of the city and attract children. There are also a few swimming pools and some places that attract young people by their Swings and children’s furniture etc.

There is also a shopping store — Dollarama that sells many items at 1 Dollar or slightly more. People with limited budgets find this place useful and suitable.

All told Toronto is an attractive and interesting city that people especially tourists like and come often to select parks, shopping centres. If you are planning to come to Canada, spend at least a week in Toronto. You will be amazed by its various activities and the foreigners who throng Toronto and some other places like Lawren Harris Park , Garden Brick Works and countless other localities that are interesting and exciting for visitors.
