24 Mar 2022 – Madeleine Albright, the first female U.S. Secretary of State, a prominent liberal interventionist, and promoter of NATO expansion, died on 23 Mar from cancer at the age of 84.

    Reading this so-called obituary, I’d have to say it reads more like an indictment of her years in office. I had some expectation of reading how she might have contributed to the country to which her family immigrated, rather than a critique of all the misjudgments and hawkish choices she made. The usual statement that we can all see what we missed in the moment with our 20-20 vision looking backward. I hope my obituary is kinder and shows more compassion than this one does for Albright.
