(Castellano) Grecia Venderá Algunas Islas Para Reducir el Déficit Fiscal

Mientras la población se enfrenta a graves problemas económicos generados por las drásticas medidas de recortes ejecutadas por el presidente Antonis Samarás, inversores extranjeros se disponen a comprar parte del territorio nacional.

El Gobierno de Grecia venderá algunas de sus islas e islotes para reducir el déficit fiscal y la deuda externa estimada en 439 mil millones de dólares, como parte de su programa de privatización de empresas y bienes raíces pertenecientes al Estado.

Los acreedores internacionales presionan y solicitan apresurar la negociación, según el medio local Atpreveza.

Mientras la población se enfrenta a graves problemas económicos generados por las drásticas medidas de recortes ejecutadas por el presidente Antonis Samarás, inversores extranjeros se disponen a comprar parte del territorio nacional.

Samarás aseguró que el país se piensa deshacer de las islas que puedan generar ingresos para la debilitada economía nacional.

Atpreveza publicó que las islas que venderán se encuentran en la costa oeste de Grecia, en el Jónico y el Golfo de Arta, entre ellas el islote Pera Nissi cercano a la localidad de Preveza, así como Agios Nikolaos y Alexandros en Lefkada.

Posteriormente venderán los islotes de Kythros, Mavro Oros y Vraka Bella, en las misma costa.

Por su parte, el diario financiero Euro2day informó que la isla Paxi ya fue vendida a la compañía chipriota Roundview Holdings Limited, mientras que el empresario turco Fikret Inan mostró su intención de comprar la isla Vouvalos con el fin de construir hoteles y villas.

Grecia se encuentra en su quinto año de recesión y el malestar social por las medidas de ajuste crece en el país, que además tiene más del 20 porciento de desempleo.

La enorme deuda externa llevó al Gobierno a hacer importantes recortes en el sector público para financiarla, esto fue respondido por numerosas manifestaciones y disturbios desde el comienzo de la crisis.

El 23 de abril del año 2010 el Gobierno griego se vio obligado a pedir un préstamo a la Unión Europea (UE), en lo que sería la primera petición de “rescate” ante la imposibilidad de sostener la deuda pública. Grecia se convirtió así en el primer país europeo en solicitar ayuda externa debido al contagio financiero, siguiéndola Irlanda y Portugal.
