Now, Big Oil is trying to disrupt the ecosystem even more by drilling the Arctic Circle. Watch as Bernadette Demientieff of the Gwich’in people illustrates the fight to save her ancestral lands and the caribou that her people are deeply intertwined with.
The World We Need is a new book offering a vivid look at the people protecting America’s communities against environmental degradation and racism. The Story of Stuff Project is partnering with Grist and TheNewPress to produce a short video series highlighting four of these phenomenal activists, one of whom is Bernadette Demientieff, Executive Director of Our Arctic Refuge.
