Whistleblowing & Retaliation in the UN

We the People: The United Nations Whistleblowers–Whistleblowing & Retaliation in the UN, edited by Caroline Hunt-Matthes, Irene Publishing, ISBN 9789188061768, Sep 2024, 331 pp.

Hunt-Matthes and the contributors present compelling evidence of the harmful retaliatory practices that hinder human progress and ultimately the pivotal work of the United Nations. The authors peel back the veneer of international diplomacy to reveal an omnipresent truth insulated in a code of silence–that universal human rights appear not to apply to the UN’s own staff members if they blow the whistle–a duty of all international civil servants.
