Recorded live across 27 locations, this is Hawai’i’s most widely known and loved song, used to close important gatherings of all sizes. It is a song of unity and Aloha ‘Aina (Aloha for one’s birthplace, land and home). “Hawai’i Aloha” features dozens of Hawai‘i’s top artists across many genres and over 1,000 youths from 10 Hawai’ian charter schools.

Mahalo for sharing. Song written by Makua Laiana, aka Reverend Lorenzo Lyons, who was an early Missionary to Hawaii and was known as one of the two most prolific Christian missionaries in Hawaii. He wrote of the Hawaiian language, “I’ve studied Hawaiian for 46 years but am by no means perfect … it is an interminable language … one of the oldest living languages of the earth, as some conjecture, and may well be classed among the best.” ~ The Rev. Lorenzo Lyons The song is written in a very traditional Hawaiian style, telling of the love of the land, the joyfulness of the youth, and a dedication to this homeland, the sands of our birth. It’s title is Hawaii Aloha, and its translation can be found easily in a computer search. Mahalo Trendscend Media for sharing it.
