Fascism on Our Doorstep!

 Italian Dictator Benito Mussolini said:

“Fascism is when the corporations and the State become one.”

21 Mar 2017 – The disguise of democracy is quickly disappearing. Trump’s claim to help working people, like so much else of what he has to say, is a fraud. Count the Goldman Sacks officials he’s appointed; the billionaires, his proposed budget priorities – cutting Meals on Wheels, education, the arts, assistance for the poor, pumping up an already overinflated military, deregulating corporations, providing more tax breaks for the rich, trashing the environment, etc. etc. If Donald Trump isn’t a symbol of corporations and the state becoming one, I don’t know what is.

Measure the path from Democracy to Despotism/Fascism yourself. The gap between rich and poor has widened dramatically. Banks “too big to fail” have grown bigger. Power, wealth, and media are concentrated in the hands of a few. The democratic term “consent of the governed” is mere window dressing. We all need to look at our communities and nation and see how we fare on the scales of respect for one another, concentration of power, economic distribution, and access to information. The more controlled the information, the more slanted the economic distribution, the more concentrated the power in decision making, the more disrespect we see to individuals and minorities, the more we as a community and a society are moving from democracy to despotism and fascism.

A new terrorist attack, or military strike/war with North Korea, will rally people against a common enemy and move fascism inside the front door. Don’t fall for it. Don’t open the door to fascism!
