27 abril 2017 – O veganismo não reconhece nada de origem animal como alimento de consumo humano, por entender que estaríamos consumindo algo que não foi feito para nós. Reconhecer algo de origem animal como alimento é uma defesa do utilitarismo, bem-estarismo, não veganismo.

O veganismo por defender o abolicionismo animal, naturalmente rejeita a ideia de que qualquer coisa produzida pelos animais seja legitimada como fonte de nutrição humana. Até porque, se esse discurso fosse endossado pelo veganismo, a luta não seria pela libertação animal, mas somente pela criação de animais em grandes espaços, disseminando uma ingênua ideia de liberdade.

Afinal, ainda assim os animais estariam confinados a uma realidade servil, que é a de fornecer alimento aos seres humanos. Sendo assim, não seria nada mais do que um tipo de exploração que pareça simpática aos olhos, e que impacte menos na nossa consciência.

Particularmente, não tenho nada contra quem é bem-estarista, mas se um dia a libertação animal for conquistada, não tenho dúvida alguma de que isso terá sido possível graças ao ideal vegano. Não há como alcançar um grande objetivo se todos forem condescendentes ou concordarem com uma “flexibilização” de ideais. Um posicionamento menos vacilante é imprescindível. Os abolicionistas do passado são a prova disso.
