No one will ever feel safe in such a city. The same applies at the international level. No amount of weaponry can make us safe. No country will be safe until also neighboring countries can feel safe. The present international system is broken; to avoid future wars we need deep reforms.

24 May 2021 – Some years back Norwegian foreign minister Thorvald Stoltenberg took wise steps to reduce confrontation with Russia through a Barents Council for civilian cooperation. Last week Stoltenberg´s son, Jens, now leader of NATO, dishonored a high-level meeting for civilian corporation in the Arctic Council in Reykjavik by NATO holding a large navy maneuver in that part of the Atlantic. Many countries participated in the tension-building provocation that has become standard Norwegian policy in later years.

In the will he used the term “the prize for the champions of peace,” and the correspondence with Bertha von Suttner, the great peace movement leader of the period, shows that it was her political ideas and political friends he wished to support – abolishing weapons and warriors as the tool to get an end to war. This means that almost all statesmen and generals who have received Nobel honors from the Oslo committee have been — considering the actual intention of Alfred Nobel — illegitimate winners.

In my letter to Länsstyrelsen on Oct. 7, 2012, I quoted startling remarks from the Secretary of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Geir Lundestad, that the Norwegian Committee is not willing to pay attention neither to the will of Alfred Nobel nor to the law and the March 21, 2012, decision of the Länsstyrelsen. Referring to the IPB request of Oct. 5 [2012] I hereby urge the Länsstyrelsen to urgently intervene with an injunctive to stop payment of the prize to the European Union.
