25 Nov 2019 – A spike in both home demolitions and settlement building in East Jerusalem is forcing Palestinians out of their houses — and jobs. On 5 Nov Muatasem Abbasi’s home, which he shared with his parents, joined the ranks of the 155 Palestinian houses in East Jerusalem demolished so far this year. The reason: it had been built without a permit. Abbasi, whose home was built in 2011, said they had been trying to get a building permit for years.
