12 Sep 2024 – Comprising in 2009 of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, BRICS added Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia and the UAE in 2024. BRICS+ now: 45% of world’s population, 25% of global trade, 40% of global oil production, 28% of world’s GDP, and more than one-third of global GDP in purchasing power parity (PPP) terms.
