The World Inequality Report 2022, released by the World Inequality Lab on 7 Dec, found that the COVID-19 pandemic has widened the financial gap between the rich and poor. The world’s billionaires enjoyed the steepest increase in their share of wealth last year since the World Inequality Lab began keeping records in 1995.

Leaked Photographs Expose Dismal Conditions in US Child Immigration Detention Center

23 Mar 2021 – Leaked photos from a facility in Texas released Sunday [21 Mar] by US Representative Henry Cuellar, gave the first glimpse of the crowded conditions for children detained at the US-Mexico border. Children can be seen cramped in enclosed spaces, many lying on mats with Mylar blankets. Amid an increase in COVID-19 infections, the crowding makes social distancing impossible.
