25 Oct 2017 – A new report by Israeli NGOs B’tselem and HaMoked, released today, reveals the damning details of Israeli mistreatment of detained Palestinian minors in occupied East Jerusalem. It found that Israel does not act in accordance with the law when interrogating and arresting children. “These teenagers are taken into custody in the middle of the night from their bedrooms and handcuffed,” the report spells. “They are interrogated without proper access to a lawyer or their parents, so that they do not fully understand their rights.”

During the past decade ICAN developed intense activity in the preparation and support of the negotiation of the prohibition of nuclear weapons, leading to their elimination. A treaty to that effect was adopted last July 7 at the United Nations.

Many of the reserves involved are surrounded by farms and pesticides could be to blame. According to the report, between 1989 and 2016 the biomass of flying insects captured in 63 different locations in Germany – including grasslands, swamps and sand dunes – decreased by a seasonal average of 76%.

He agreed to serve an extra 6 months if he could work for peace, but that was refused. In jail he wrote his first book, Gandhi’s Political Ethics, together with his mentor, Arne Næss. This event would trigger a world-changing lifetime work for peace: 170 books, plus.

It means that every refugee family would be offered a choice between actual return and adequate compensation. Return – where? In a few extraordinary instances, their original village still stands empty. I can imagine some symbolic reconstruction of such villages – say two or three – by their former inhabitants.

Israel has no constitution, but until now it was assumed that Israel was equally “Jewish” and “democratic”. The new law is about to abolish that notion. As usual, we are one or two centuries behind world history.
