12 Luglio 2022 – La NATO è la macchina da guerra globale che gli Stati Uniti dominano; la cui politica è la “Full Spectrum Dominance”. Collapse of the Us Dollar
David Adams | Transition to a Culture of Peace – TRANSCEND Media Service, 6 Jun 2022

1 Jun 2022 – Two years ago I wrote that the dollar would lose its global role and be devalued. 21 Dec 2021 – ASEAN leaders should explore a joint strategy with China, India and the US. Prof Johan Galtung on Peace Journalism, Capitalism, Positive Peace, Structural Violence, Feminism, and Much More
Josef Mühlbauer | Varna Peace Institute – TRANSCEND Media Service, 6 Dec 2021

3 Dec 2021 – Johan Galtung was at the core of the group of intellectuals who established the Peace Research Institute Oslo in 1959. Without his enormous effort and personality, PRIO would never have come true. He left it in 1969 to become Professor of Conflict and Peace Studies at the University of Oslo and was the founding editor of the Journal of Peace Research in 1964. In 1993 Galtung, Dietrich Fischer, Poka Laenui and wife Fumiko Nishimura founded TRANSCEND-A Peace Development Environment Network in Honolulu, Hawai’i, a Conflict Mediation Organization that thrives to this day with about 400 members worldwide. In 2008 he co-founded TRANSCEND Media Service-TMS with editor Antonio C.S. Rosa.

Peace by Global Disarmament or by Press Freedom?
Fredrik S. Heffermehl | Nobel Peace Prize Watch – TRANSCEND Media Service, 6 Dec 2021

6 Dec 2021 – The Norwegian Nobel Committee never abided by Nobel’s vision of peace and has used the prize to serve its own ideas and interests. It has practiced a concept of Peace without any meaningful limitation; Nobel did not use the word peace in his will. It has been glorifying individuals whereas the task is to promote a political idea: Peace by Disarmament.

Destitute and Desperate Asylum Seekers and Migrants
Mairead Maguire, Nobel Peace Laureate – TRANSCEND Media Service, 29 Nov 2021

25 Nov 2021 – It was with deep sadness that on 23 Nov the world watched in horror the news that 27 people had drowned in the English Channel when their flimsy dinghy overturned attempting to cross from Calais to Dover. I am sorry and I ask the forgiveness of migrants and refugees who have been forced to flee their lands. I send my condolences to the families at the loss of their beloved ones in a cold watery tragedy far away from their homes.

U.S. Cold War Interventionism, 1945-1990
Roger Peace | US Foreign Policy - TRANSCEND Media Service, 8 Nov 2021

The idea that the United States should lead the world, replacing the British Empire, had been advanced by various U.S. leaders and influential citizens since the late 19th century. This ambition was in keeping with age-old aspirations of great states and empires, and also with the trajectory of U.S. history. The U.S. expanded across North America in the 19th century, became an imperial power in Asia in 1899, declared Latin America an exclusive sphere of influence in the early 20th century, and became the foremost global economic power prior to the First World War.

1901-1934: “Yankee Imperialism” in Latin America
Roger Peace | US Foreign Policy - TRANSCEND Media Service, 25 Oct 2021

On 20 Jun 1898, as U.S. troops prepared to land in Cuba to “pacify” the island, Assist. Sec. State Francis Loomis writing to his boss, Sec. State William Day, declared, “I think it our destiny to control more or less directly most all of the Latin American countries.” One means to this end was economic domination. “It is possible to attain commercial ascendancy in them in much the same way that England does in China, by lending them money and administering their revenues.”

The Nobel Peace Prize Should Have Gone to Julian Assange
David Adams | Transition to a Culture of Peace – TRANSCEND Media Service, 18 Oct 2021

11 Oct 2021 – To some extent one must applaud the choice of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize to two journalists who have dared to defy government pressure. Maria Ressa and Dmitry Muratov certainly merit the distinction. But there is another journalist who is even more deserving and his recognition would have contributed far more to the cause of world peace. That is Julian Assange.

Afghanistan Is Not the End
David Adams | Transition to a Culture of Peace – TRANSCEND Media Service, 6 Sep 2021

1 Sep 2021 – As Karl Marx put it, spending money on the military is like throwing money into the sea. It produces nothing of value. And eventually an economy that produces nothing of value will crash from its own internal contradiction. This is the contradiction that led Johan Galtung to predict the end of the American Empire by the year 2020.

David Adams | Transition to a Culture of Peace – TRANSCEND Media Service, 6 Sep 2021

1 Sept.

David Adams | Transition to a Culture of Peace – TRANSCEND Media Service, 9 Aug 2021

Culture of War Update
David Adams | Transition to a Culture of Peace – TRANSCEND Media Service, 2 Aug 2021

1 Aug 2021 – It does not seem likely that the advance in democracy and anti-war consciousness can overthrow the American empire and its culture of war, but like its predecessor, the Soviet Empire, it will eventually collapse from its own contradictions. At that point, the development of democracy and anti-war consciousness will be essential if we are to make a radical change in global governance, a UN based directly on the people and promoting a culture of peace.

Dangerous US NATO Expansion in Norway
GNspace4peace - TRANSCEND Media Service, 5 Jul 2021

1 Jun 2021 – In recent years, the US and NATO have been militarizing the Arctic through Norway as a means to confront Russia. This militarization is increasing tensions between nuclear-armed nations. As the Arctic melts away, these powerful nations are competing for dominance in the region by establishing new routes, building new military bases and constructing new radars, as less efforts are placed on diplomacy.

UN Security Council: Key Reform for a Culture of Peace
David Adams | Transition to a Culture of Peace – TRANSCEND Media Service, 5 Jul 2021

1 Jul 2021 – The key is the reform of the United Nations Security Council, which at the present time is controlled by the nuclear powers and unable to act in the Middle East because of alliances with the State of Israel. What we have now is not promoting a culture of peace. What we need is radical change, and the UNSC is a key point to be changed.
