Take the case of Syria. The people and groups one would normally count on to oppose wars have been the ones largely defending it.

And why are racists afraid of it? The culture of settler-colonial peoples coming from across the world and overpowering the original inhabitants of a territory to form a state around themselves has enduring and insurmountable maladies and misanthropies. They act as the native inhabitants of the lands they violently conquered and brand those who come after them as “immigrants”.

They have heard of the Tesla electric car, but generally the broader public is unfamiliar with the Serbian scientist and his path-breaking inventions in electricity and wireless technology. Many of his inventions were stolen by US corporations. Wireless technology was in large part based on Tesla inventions. He contributed to the development of the alternating-current electrical system that’s widely used today and discovered the rotating magnetic field (the basis of most AC machinery).

29 Jun 2021 – Toward a Taxonomy of Conspiracies – The truest conspiracies meet with the least opposition. Conspiracy practices — the methods by which true conspiracies such as gerrymandering, or the debt industry, or mass surveillance are realized — are almost always overshadowed by conspiracy theories: those malevolent falsehoods that in aggregate can erode civic confidence in the existence of anything certain or verifiable. In my life, I’ve had enough of both the practice and the theory.

The recent bipartisan push in the United States to be tough on China seems to be confirming the adage: If it’s worth doing, it’s worth overdoing. While the Biden administration suggests that we compete against Beijing in some realms, cooperate with it in others and confront the Chinese where we must, Washington seems all too willing to overemphasize this last leg of the policy triad.
